Removing

When I unscrewed the cartridge the centre came out leaving the rest of the cartridge in situ. Any ideas on how to remove the remaining part of the cartridge?

If you can cut a groove in the lip of the inside of the part that is left then you you maybe able to tap it around using a cold chisel.
