Bristan Orta (Concealed) shower - struggling to remove cartridge

Hi, I have followed the manufacturer's instructions to remove the cartridge, including replacing the plastic dial and trying to prise off with a screwdriver, but the cartridge won't budge. In previous answer you suggest 'removing the plug'; what part of the cartridge is the plug? Any other thoughts why the cartridge won't shift?

First removing the plug isn't an option for a concealed valve.
