Sometimes no hot water

I have recently been experiencing a problem with my Bristan Osbourne thermostatic shower. Occasionally there is no hot water, just full pressure cold. This seems to occur mainly when I try having a shower straight after someone else but can occur randomly as well. The problem seems to rectify itself after a period of time but this can range from 1 hour - 24 hours.

I have had the shower about 8-9 years

Regarding the temperature fluctuation orcool running it could be a faulty cartridge however to check this, see if youcan get hold of the hot supply pipe before it enters the shower or perhaps asit leaves the boiler.

If when holding this pipethe temperature fluctuates or goes cool then the problem is not with the showerbut more likely with the boiler as the shower can only deliver what the boilersends to it.

Disregard the temperature atthe taps as they have a different flow rate.

You may have a faulty cartidge or there could be blocked filters in the inlet elbows, it may be worth stripping them out and checking that they are clean and clear before ordering a cartridge, also check the head and hose are clear.
