Bristan Tulsa temperature control

Why is the control so very stiff to adjust to lower levels? During warm weather, or soon after the shower has been used, it is very difficult to turn the control knob to a lower setting. I have to use two hands to turn the knob and my wife cannot turn it at all.

I have dismantled the unit to descale and grease it, but it makes no difference.

With the Sirrus 1800 series that in almost every occasion thefirst thing to do is give them a strip down clean and lube and fit a servicekit, this will cure 85% of any problems and it is also the cheapest thing todo.

If after servicing you find out that it needs a thermostat or piston, nothing is really lost because it almost certainly needed a service in anycase.

The 1800

There is no real difficulty with this valve however it is a littlemore complicated than the 1500 just take photos as you strip it down you canthen refer to them when you are rebuilding.
