Mira Event thermostatic carbon brushes

Hi I have a 1999 model and I need new brushes. Should I buy the brushes only or the brushes in the casing? Why pick one over the other and is reusing the old casing an easy/advisable thing to do? Also can you confirm this is the correct brush type for my shower, as an earlier brush question seemed to imply there were 2 different types available. But I only see one type listed on your website.
