Water leaking out through the pressure relief valve

As much water has started coming through the pressure relief valve as through the actual hose. Are you able to explain why and what can be done to remedy? Shower unit bought October 2014 and leakage started approx. 2 months ago. Unfortunately, your diagram doesn't refer to the aforementioned part/spare.

It’s a safety device on the bottom of the heating tank.

It is fairly easy to replace however there is usually something that causes it to blow, often a kink in the hose or the showerhead is blocked, so check this before fitting the new PRV.
