Shower unit melting

Hi, I have a creda 9.5dl shower, I posted here a year ago asking about the thermal cut out as the water was cold and was advised I may need a new thermal cut out. I purchased one and fitted it and the shower was then fine, but it happened again 2 months later. I purchased a whole new shower this time(creda 9.5 again) and fitted it and everything was fine. 10 months later, the ceiling pull cord switch decided to not turn on. I managed to get it on to use the shower and then left it in the on position, I was advised that this is ok and it shouldn't be turned off and on with every shower use anyway apparently. But now, when I was in the shower this morning I smelt burning coming from the shower unit and when I touched it was very soft and starting to melt. The water was heating up though. What could this be and why do I keep getting problems even after buying a whole new shower? Do I need another new shower?

Stop using the shower until the problem is resolved.

There maybe a loose conection on the terminal block that is causing the melting , but this will have to be checked.
