Old System-Pool Shower - will it work?

I have an old (1999) System Pool shower and the water now goes from vey hot to very burning hot! Am assuming the cartridge has failed so looking for a new one. Pulled the cartridge and it looks just like the GP0012174. Before I buy can you advise if it will work?

It maybe the water is too hot for the cartridge. But if not , this is the correct cartridge for your shower.
