This question is regarding Crosswater Sol Thermostatic Cartridge Assembly - GP0012174

This appears to be the cartridge I need, but mine has a plastic ring around it. Is the lack of this ring what you're referring to when you say 'override not available'? I presume the only difference without the ring will be that you'll be able to turn the thermostat to hotter temperatures without having to push the button?



Also, on my shower unit there are two small valves that contain small plungers presumably to balance the flow between hot & cold. Is it possible to buy these parts at all as one half of the the screw head in one of the valves has broken off and one of the plungers appears to be broken.
