Is this the correct cartridge and solution to the problem?

I've got a concealed shower fitted and the temperature wont adjust from hot (well it will got to scalding but nothing below very hot). I've taken it to bits and attach photos. The writing on the plastic casing says GS000 2207 which leads me to believe that this is the correct thermostatic valve (if that is the issue). Can you tell me a) is it the right part an b) am I correct in assuming that this will be the problem. The isolation screws also appear to be stuck (one has been snapped at some point too as you can see in the picture). I didn't try to remove the valve as I couldn't see how to remove it... does it screw out or pull out?

Hi Steve,

Do you have images of the shower with the black temperature stop removed so we can actually see the front of the cartridge please?

Normally if the temperature problems are isolated to the shower valve alone, then new cartridge is required.

Hi I couldn't work out how to remove the black piece... any idea how it comes off?

"Normally if the temperature problems are isolated to the shower valve alone, then new cartridge is required." - how do I prove that... what else could it be?

It should just pull off if im correct. Might be tight due to the scale over the years?

I've got the black cover off but the remaining chrome piece is solid. Can you see what you need from this. I would turn off the water and remove the valve if the stop screws weren't a) broken and b) solid!

Steve,

The temperature cartridge you require can be found via this link provided to our website - www.showerdoc.com/crosswater-sol-thermostatic-cartridge-assy

The chrome sleeve will unscrew of im sure..

No other spares are available so there is an alternative replacement shower can also be found to the right of the cartridge images. The manufacturer suggest this is the closest replacement to the Sol shower

This cartridge is in stock ready for shipping on a next working day delivery if ordered before 3PM Monday - Friday. (* Subject to stock availability)

If you require any more assistance then please don't hesitate to get in contact.

Kind Regards

So impressed with that, it does indeed unscrew and I've now removed it. The big issue I have is that the isolation screws are welded and one of them is snapped, so I'll have to turn the mains off to replace it but at least I can now get to it.

Just to be sure it's worth going for the cartridge, do the symptoms (shower runs hot when set to minimum and gets hotter if adjusted upwards) sound like a cartridge issue.

We've recently had a sealed hot cylinder installed (the issue was there before this was installed though)... will the valve be OK with mains pressure hot and cold?

If I buy this and it turns out it's not the issue can it be returned?
