Crosswater thermostatic cartridges - GP00000250

I note from the website that there are two designs - my old cartridge that needs to be replaced is the bottom picture - Do both cartridges fit into the same space? I only ask as the top cartridge appears to have an extra plastic ring and one less rubber seal.
