Max. temp. too low

I have two showers both of which are fitted with this thermo. cartridge from new about ten years ago. Both showers failed within three days of each other with the same fault i.e. unable to increase water temp. above stone cold. All stop valves clear of crud etc. and working correctly, no debris etc. in the cartridges or housings, boiler working as it has always done (not a combi), hot water perfectly ok at all other outlets. It seems a very big coincidence that two cartridges should fail in the same manner within a few days of each other. I would like a little reassurance that failure of the cartridges is the most likely reason and not that they have been caused to fail by some other problem in the system before I fit two new ones. Thanks P. Grice

Try turning on the shower and holding the hot inlet to see if it gets hot. If it does you could buy one cartridge and try it in both showers to see if there is any difference.
