shower running like warm

Hi our shower valve is connected directly to the cold water mains and hot water supplied via a combi boiler. To get a warm shower we have to run the cold tap in the sink whilst adjusting the shower thermostat. Is it time to replace the cartridge? The cartridge has been replaced before and tends to last about 3 years till the above problem returns

Check the filters on the cartridge are clear, and if so then you may need a new one.
