Water is either boiling hot or cold

Hi, we bought a replacement valve in Feb this year. At first it worked fine. Now the temperature is so haot even at the 25 degrees position. As soon as you turn it a fraction past this position it goes straight to cold. We have tried taking it out and repositioning it but it is still the same.

The usual reason for a valve snapping between hot and cold is the pipe work is connected the wrong way round, the normal connections are hot to the left and cold to the right.

The other thing to check is the water coming to the shower, see if you can get a hold of the pipe that feeds the shower and check that the water temperature in the pipe remains constant, the shower will only deliver the water temperature that is sent to it.

I can't remember ever having one of these cartridges that has been faulty, however there is always a first time , if it is faulty we will replace it.
