Temperature gage not working

Hi there, the temperature gage has stopped working on our shower. Please could you tell me if this is a cheap easy problem to fix. I'm happy to do the job myself with some guidance. I really want to avoid spending a lot of money as I have sold my house but I just don't want to leave a shower with one temp setting. Thank you in advance

Turn the shower temperature control from fully cold to fully hot. When you do this slowly there should be a gradual change in temperature and flow. At fully hot you should have not much more than a dribble coming from the hose, and on fully cold you should have a good strong flow. If you do not have this difference, or the flow or temperature is erratic, then you may have a faulty flow/stabilizer valve.

It may also be the knob is broken at the back and is not adjusting the temperature.
