When off, shower head continues to spout water

When switched off the shower head continues to give a slow stream of cold water, even when switching the Shower off from the Cut-off switch. The Shower is working fine aside from this. From watching the videos here, it seems that the PRD needs replacing. Is this going to help solve this? First noted within a week of having the water meter replaced. Shower has been working without issue for the last 5 years. Thank you.

If when you switch off the shower at the main isolator and the shower keeps running then you have a faulty solenoid valve.

When you switch off the shower at the main isolator and the water stops running, then you have a faulty on/off switch or a faulty PCB or a micro switch that is sticking on.

Hi Barrie.
Thanks for getting back to me.
When switched off at the isolator, the water continues to come.
So I'm thinking the PCB route is the way to go.

Your shower does not have a PCB. So it may be the solenoid valve,

Barrie,
Unless I am mistaken, it appears to be item 6 on the diagram.
Thanks for the quick response.

This is the Pressure Relief Device (PRD) and it may have activated.

It’s a safety device on the bottom of the heating tank.

It is fairly easy to replace however there is usually something that causes it to activate, often a kink in the hose or the shower head is blocked, so check this before fitting the new PRD.
