GAINSBOROUGH 10.5 Se

Hi, I have replaced the Gainsborough 10.5 Se with a same model. The unit I have had previously, I bought a few years ago, was working ok, but recently I note that if I turned the temperature control down fully, there was still warm/hot water coming out even when set on cold! Contacted the manufacturer for advice and after chatting to them, decided to buy a new one as this would cure the problem! However, after fitting the new unit, I am experiencing exactly the same issue? I am happy that the water pressure has not changed. So to test the new unit, I turned off the power and just let the cold water run through for 20 seconds. The temperature was cold. Then I turned on the power and the cold water warmed up again. So, it seems the unit is warming up the water, exactly the original issue. Are shower units set to some kind of low warm setting all the time? If not, then I am lost for an answer! Can you offer any advice please?

In truth I am also stuck for an explanation!

Your description of the fault would suggest that there is something sticking inside keeping one of the elements energised, when it shouldn't.

As this is a new unit I would give Gainsborough a ring and they should send an engineer out as it will still be under guarantee
