Gainsborough 10.5 se temperature problem

My Gainsborough 10.5 is about 18 months old. This morning i turned it on and started slowly, with cold water came through but at a weak flow. Then the unit sounded like it was boiling and scalding hot water came out at a faster rate, then the unit cut out. Tried a couple of times and same thing happened. I took the shower head off and tried again, same thing happened. Also turned the temperature down to coldest setting and exactly the same. Is the shower knackered or could there be some kind of blockage or build up?

Check that the head and the hose are not blocked.

If these are ok then you may need a new engine.
