Aquiliser outlet pipe

The water started coming out of the back of the shower and found to be exiting from the above which seems to be only a side hole in the pipe with nothing missing. Why did this occur and how is the water stopped from exiting via this hole under normal use. I expected that there would be some part of the pipe that would blow but your picture shows exactly what I have - no blanking piece. Help please.

It sounds like the pressure relief device part of the outlet tube has activated for some reason.

The PRD tube can be replaced and can be found as item one from the spares list in this link provided - www.showerdoc.com/gainsborough-9-5-bc-shower-spares

Reasons for the PRD tube activating:

A burst of pressure to the shower.
The Hose was kinked whilst showering
The shower hose is collasped inside
The shower head is blocked and needs cleaned
You have replaced the shower head with a NON Gainsborough model
You have replaced the shower hose with a NON Gainsborough model

If any of the above have happened of been done then the PRD tube will keep activating unless the problem is fixed again.
