Gainsborough Energy 2000X shower unit

With the top smaller knob in the stop position all the three temperature neon lights have been coming on and it's been heating the water but there has been no flow because the knob is in the stop position and the heater tank has been getting very hot and noisey, this been random and have to turn it off at the isolator switch can you help please.

The micro switch or switches in the above maybe stuck in position.
