Replacement shower hose

I have seen previous posts on this question and the link for a replacement hose, which has 2 conical ends. However, our shower hose is attached to the shower unit by a hexagonal nut. Is it a simple matter of undoing and removing the nut and then screw on the conical end of the new shower hose?

You can use a universal hose, one with two conical ends, or one such as the above.
