This question is regarding Gainsborough GS700 - Shower Spares

No hot water

Hello I have the GS700 shower, but it's slightly different to this one, I think mine is the concealed version. I have added a picture. I always have it to the hottest setting, where it is just about hot enough. I recently had visitors who turned the dial all the way down to the coldest setting, in an attempt to turn the shower off no doubt. When I first tried to use the shower after this, it only came out luke warm on the first attempt. I then thpought it might help tp step up the heat in icrements slowly, on doing this, I can now only get freezing cold water out, even at the hottest setting. My bathroom sink, and bath, taps are both still providing very hot water at a decent pressure. i would love to get hot water back in my shower, and if it could be a little hotter than before, at it's highest temparature, that would be even better, I appreciate you taking the time to consider this for me. can you help? First check that the inlet filters are clear, if they are Ok then wind it back and forth between fully hot and fully cold 10 or 20 times this may just release the parts inside the cartridge.

 

If this doesn’t work then you are going to need a new cartridge if you don’t know what cartridge you need then can you send us a couple of photos of the cartridge, if you can’t get photos of the cartridge can you then send us photos of the shower with the knobs on and with the knobs and cover plate removed
