Top temperature

I have a Gainsborough GS700 shower fitted and a new Worcester condensing boiler.

The flow is good and temperature is maintained, however, the hottest it can go, though adequate, is not as hot as I would like.

Other showers that I have used have a 'set' temperature, but they also have a little button that allows that temperature to be overridden, thus making the shower hotter.

My question is: does the GS700 only go so hot as designed. Or could there be a fault?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Claire.

If you have the shower fed from a combi boiler, see if you can get hold of the hot supply pipe before it enters the shower or perhaps as it leaves the boiler.

If when holding this pipe the temperature is cool, then the problem is not with the shower but more likely with the boiler, as the shower can only deliver what the boiler sends to it.

Disregard the temperature at the taps as they have a different flow rate.

The other possibility is a faulty temperature cartridge.
