Knob on shower keeps turning once on

I'm trying to work out which part is needed to make our shower turn on and off. As it turns on, but then won't turn off using the knob. When we opened the shower, the part that was broken was one that had little 'flippers' around a circular piece. It fitted behind the dial (and links with the water control valve). What is the name of the part to be ordered? Picture of the inside/outside - need the part that is missing!

I think you mean the cog with the teeth and some of theteeth are worn or missing/

Unfortunately if this is the case then you are going to needa new shower as this part is nolonger available.

You could try removing and repositioning the cog, however Iam not sure that this would work

If you are going to replace the shower the Triton Fast Fit isprobably your easiest option

The problem is the alignment post that will have snapped off. This goes into the centre hole on the control valve than turn the water off and on.

What happens is the cog that is attached to the operating handle on the front of the shower becomes loose and the movement created means it stops meshing with the valve cog.

The alignment post can not take the strain and snaps. You can as I have done superglue it back on and dont forget to tighten the screw in the operating handle cog it sits next to.

This is definate a weakness with this model
