Transformer

Hi, we have a jet master 3000 which runs from the mains water supply. It seems the transformer keeps blowing the fuse. The water runs from the shower but has no power boost, so it's a basically just water running from the shower head. I see that this transformer is discontinued. Is there a replacement we could use, or do we need to buy a whole new shower system?

I am afraid it is a new shower!

Your transformer is 12v and the one used in the new shower is 24V.

We still have the old shower installed though, which is still on 12 volts. I'm thinking the transformer has packed up - I assume that's possible - or do they go on for ever?

the 12v transformer was often the part that went faulty that's why they changed to 24V

Okay, many thanks. Looks like a new shower!

You would need to find a 12v transformer to replace the one that you have. Not an item we stock. Maplins may be of help.

From your experience, is it the transformer which is blowing the fuse or the motor in the shower?

If transformer fuse keeps blowing then is likely to be the motor , if the fuse on the plug / fused spur, then the transformer.

How can we test the motor please?

The internals of the motor may be causing the short, so replacing it is the only way to be sure it is the motor.
As these are no longer available , a new shower will be needed.
