Replacing a Monarch 407 shower

Hi,

I'm currently considering replacing this old gainsborough monarch 407 shower unit, but i'm not at all sure what kw rated this unit is and what mm cable it is powered from. I am more than likely going to replace this unit with a new Triton or Gainsborough 8.5kw electric shower. I intend to buy a new shower unit that will power up/run off the current cable feed. What cable (mm) is this monarch 407 likely to be powered from and what is the kw power rating on the monarch 407. Also what is an ideal kw unit to replace this old unit with.

This had a can which was 7.2 kw. 

Fittinga more powerful shower to the existing wiring.

Ifyour existing shower was installed with 6mm wiring (as it should havebeen) then fitting another shower (even up to one of the 10kw units)to the existing wiring should be no problem, depending on the lengthof the run off cable and how the cable is installed.

Hereis a table that allows you to work out what you can do with theexisting wiring, make sure you fill it in accurately as this can makea large difference to the eventual calculation.

Youmay also have to change the fuse

Upto 8.5kw  35 Amp fuse

Upto 9.5kw  40 Amp Fuse

Upto 10.5kw 45 Amp Fuse
