pressure relief device gainsborough energy 2000x

Whilst having a shower the pressure relief device shot out, however I could not see where it screws into, as once put back there is no seal to contain the water. the shower is still working but leaks profusely. Is there a part it should screw into, or is it the device that is faulty?
