confusion

I watched your video about testing parts and tested the resistance of my SV800 which had stopped working. The solenoid gave a reading of 3.75 so I assumed it was ok. The heat exchanger gave a reading of 7.85 and 5.65 on the elements. I went to my local shower spares shop with the unit which they tested and said the heat exchanger was ok but the solenoid was reading faulty. when I took the unit home and tested it again, the solenoid still read 3.75 but i had no reading at all on the heat exchanger. I am loathe to pay for a new solenoid and then find the unit still doesn't work. Am I missing something?

You need to retest and get consistent results, anything else is a guess. Or have someone else do the tests with you to see if they get the same results.
