I need to turn off the mains water after showering, the shower has just been replced after alterations would this have caused this problem?

It is likely that some dirt has got into the solenoid valve and it is not shutting down correctly.

Unfortunately this solenoid valve has been discontinued so this will mean that the shower will need replaced.

Although not a direct change over the easiest change over will be the Triton T80 fastfit

They are on the right hand side of the page below just make sure you select one with the same output as your existing shower.
