Power light/no hot water

Hi Fitted a new (old stock) shower. The power light comes on when on the blue (small dial) and when facing straight up. When it is turned to the red outline or full red the power light goes off. Can manage to get hot water by selecting straight up and on 10 large dial. Water will get hotter if a cold tap is turned on Thanks

Try setting the temperature to about 5 and see if it starts to heat up then.

At 10 there may not be enough water moving through the shower to stop it going into over heat the shower will sense that and not allow power to go to the elements.

I am presuming that this is connected to the water mains?

Also I think you need to establish that when you turn the shower to full power and the light goes off that you still have power going to the shower.

If you have a faulty connection then often there will be enough power getting to the shower to light the neons but as soon as you try to draw more power the connection will fail and the light will go out.
