galaxy aqua 3000 shower failed

My 86 yr old mother in laws shower has stopped working. The main fuse board trip is ok. The pull cord switch in the ceiling shows a feint light. When you press the shower on nothing happens and the feint light on the ceiling light goes out. Is this likely to be a fault within the shower unit itself or is it likely to be the ceiling switch. I am currently in Spain for a couple of weeks and I am trying to advise my daughter over the phone

Almost certainly you have have a faulty pull cord switch.
