Solenoid reads 3.49KW

Solenoid reads 3.49kW. Shower powers on normally then stops after 5 seconds with the power light fading gracefully. The two likely explanation according the Galaxy web site are the solenoid and the PCB - the PCB is expensive. Does 3.49kW sound like it's the solenoid that is causing the problem.

The reading on the solenoid sounds good does it have the same reading when the shower has stopped? if it has then it is OK

If the light is fading then it is just possible that you could have a problem with your isolation switch

switch of the power and have a look inside, any signs of overheating then replace the switch.

Thanks will check solenoid. Forgot to mention evidence of overheating on PCB there is quite a bit of soot around there.

The soot is likley to just be carbon from the brushes
