Neptune Solo shower

Customer shower is either scalding or cold. Operation of flow valve has no intermediate temperature level, does not reduce or increase the flow rate and movement is stiff and gritty. Electrical check of heater elements and safety cut out show all ok. Will a new flow valve solve these problems?

The things to check first are:

1 That the main valve coming into your house is fully open.

2 Then check that the valve on the line to the shower is fully open.

If these valves are not fully open then there may not be enough water getting to your shower to cool it properly the overheat safety device will turn the power off until it cools Then it all starts again

Make sure that the shower head is clean and clear, that the hose isn’t kinked (this can happen just behind the hand set where it is difficult to see) also check the inside of the hose although it can look OK on the outside it could have collapsed internally

The other possibility is a faulty flow/stabilizer valve not allowing the correct amount of water into the shower.

Hi,
Thanks for the information but most of it does not apply.
Flow rate out of the shower head is very good, so no kinks, collapse or restrictions. Pressure in must also be acceptable (although I have not been able to measure it) and isolation valve is fully open.
Hot water is delivered constantly while temperature knob is above a certain point, (ie the safety overheat is not operating to shut down the heating elements) but there is no lowering of the temperature or reduction of the flow rate from the outlet, (with or without the shower headset attached). As the temperature knob is turned to decrease the temperature of the water (this is not a very smooth rotation), the flow rate and temperature remain the same until a point is reached when the flow rate remains the same (ie full flow) but the temperature rapidly drops to that of the supply (ie ambient). The same occurs in both of the Hi and Low main switch settings.
Do you have any suggestions please?

Sorry for the delay but from your answer I would suggest a new flow valve
