Solenoid replaced - now faulty again.

Recently replaced the solenoid after my shower stopped working. New solenoid solved the problem. However, a month later the shower has stopped working again and testing the solenoid seems to indicate its faulty again?

Removed the solenoid and there does seem to be some water in the unit, so i' m thinking maybe the valve unit is leaking into solenoid - it was a bit wet around the valve stem that slides into the solenoid.

I'm answering my own question me thinks, but does that all suggest to replace solenoid/ valve unit as one - could anything else cause a new solenoid to fail?

The flow valve above the solenoids are the usual culprit in all this, as they drip from the shaft on to the solenoid when in use and cause the solenoids to fail. Replacing the solenoid is best accompanied by checking if the stabiliser is indead leaking and if so replacing that as well.
