This question is regarding Lefroy Brooks Dual Control - Shower Spares

Dual control shower/bath mixer tap malfunction

The mixer tap on our dual unit will only produce tepid water, whilst the bath tap produces normal hot water. We changeD the mixer valve unit at great expense less than a year go, but the problem has repeated over the past 2 months. Our plumber suspects the wax capsule might be the probleM, after reducing the boiler temperature by 5 degrees on advice from Lefroy Brooks but this has not solved the problem - before seeking a warranty replacement of the mixer valve or the wax capsule, is there any other maintenance problem that might lead to this defect eg a check valve?

There are flow suppressors and non return valves in the elbows. But this is unlikely to be the cause and I would be inclined to follow the recommendations of Lefroy Brooks and your plumber regarding this.
