New bath/shower mixer installation water won't shut off

I've had a leaking shower and believed the issue to be with the aquadimmer. I've bought a replacement but once installed I can't seem to get the water to shut off from either the bath or the shower. I've re-attached the handle on top of the aquadimmer and when it's in the off position the shower runs, if I turn it anti-clockwise away from the shower on location it does switch to the bath but there doesn't seem to be any in-between location where both taps are off! Am I doing something stupid?

Your heading is that this is a new installation, you don't mention which valve you have however most Grohe showers have a 5 year guarantee, give them a call and they will send out an engineer.
