Sk1500-cp

Hi i have replaced the cartridge and wax thermistat but get little to no cold water. I have gone extreme an today took the whole shower off the wall and the water is getting to the shower fine! The elbows do not seem to have ever had the filters fitted as i took these off as well. The shower had been working fine for years but now really no cold water! Having purchased a new cartridge is there any particular way you screw it back into the shower or is it all the way in until its tight? I just dont understand the lack of cold as the shower seems fairly basic in design. Head and riser pipe all clear as well. What else could be stopping the flow of water?

The common mistake is with the thermostat sitting on the teeth of the piston the steel bit of the stat should be facing out.
