Temperature fluctuating hot to cold.

Hi, My shower mixer needs a new cartridge as it keeps going from hot to cold.. would just replacing the element solve the problem? Or would I need to replace the entire cartridge?

First you need to check that you don't have a boiler fault try and get hold of the hot pipe as it enters the shower or as it leaves the boiler if the temperature of the pipe is going up and down then it is more likely to be a boiler fault.

if the temperature is OK then I would fit a service kit to the valve
