Cartridge removal

The main cartridge will not budge, to apply more brute force will damage the piping and tile work. Any tricks of suggestions for lossening?

This can be difficult!

First thing to try is 2 or 3 kettles of boiling water over the body this may expand the body just enough to release the sticksion.

Then some direct head either with a hot air paint stripper or a gas torch make sure that there is nothing flammable about to catch fire.

Also if you can get something on to the valve to hold against you when trying to unscrew, failing that you will have to remove the valve or try Dynamite
