Troublesome Pumped System

Hi,

We have this cartridge on a pumped system & are experiencing two problems which I believe are caused by air somehow getting into the pumped system.

Sometimes the pump stays running (even when flow shut off at cartridge - and you can here a big hiss somewhere behind the cartridge even though no evidence of a leak) & sometimes the pump refuses to kick in. These problems can both generally be solved by selecting full hot or full cold & gently 'priming' the other side which is why I suspect air to be the problem.

Now I did strip the cartridge down a while back to replace an O-ring that seemed to be causing a steady leak out of the front of the unit & I notice that the leak has started again (albeit only an occasional drip).

So I'm wondering if it is possible for a fault/leak in this cartridge to allow air into the system to the point where it affects the pump?

With many thanks for your EXCELLENT service!

With the Sirrus 1800 series that in almost every occasion the first thing to do is give them a strip down clean and lube and fit a service kit, this will cure 85% of any problems and it is also the cheapest thing to do.
