Sirrus 1500 shower too hot

Shower was freezing cold; changed cartridge as advised by Plummer, kept and used same thermostat. Now shower boiling hot, even at No.1 setting?! Tried adjusting with small screw driver through the centre pice, but no joy! Can u help please?

The normal cause of this is the piston sticking so checkthat it is well greased

You can check the thermostat

To test the stat you need a cup of hot and a cup of coldwater and a felt tip pen

 

Dip the brass part of the stat into the cold water for10secs then mark with the felt tip the steel pin as it comes out of the brasscapsule now dip it into the hot  cup thepin should move out about 2 to 4mm dip it back in to the cold and it shouldretract.

The way to set the temperature is to turn on the shower tothe hottest position remove the centre screw water will dribble out, this isOK, insert a long thin screwdriver down through the centre of the valve in tothe temp adjusting screw, screw clock wise for hotter and anti clock wise forcooler .
