Replacement Cartridge fitted - still dripping

Our plumber fitted a replacement sirrus 1500 brass cartridge to our Britannia shower today. He replaced all the washers with those supplied in the kit. However despite several attempts the unit is still dripping. Is a replacement thermostat now needed?

We have now tried to use the shower and find that the temperature cannot be adjusted. It is always hot despite the position of the temperature control. Is it possible to replace the thermostat?

This should help with setting the temperature. If the new cartridge does not cure the drip , then it is either a fault within the body of the shower or incorrect fitting.

The temperature adjustment has worked, however the shower still drips. The cartridge has been replaced in line with your instructions. What sort of fault should I be looking for in the body of the shower?

A thermostat will not solve the leak. There is only one "O" ring in the cartridge that shuts off the water, and if this is damaged or there is dirt etc. on it, the water will not shut off.
