This question is regarding Sirrus Antique 1500 Series Brass/Gold Cartridge Assembly (no thermostat)

shower wouldnt turn off

before stripping valve down the shower wouldnt turn off and in the clockwise direction the spindle was continuously turning (no stop) would replacing cartridge solve this problem or should I buy a new shower This shower is approx 10 years old

Yes a new cartridge will fix this.
