bramham antique shower valve not shutting down

when shower valve is replaced and tight, there is no water flow,if valve is loosened slightly then waterflow returns .problem being whole valve will undo when working the shower.is there is there a set position in which the cartridge should be assembled.thanks

First double check that you have reassembled the valvecorrectly.

 

The other thing that could cause a problem is the temperadjusting screw being in the wrong position (This is the screw that is down thecentre spindle)Unscrew this (that’s anti clockwise) as far as it will go andthe valve should screw back fully no problem you will then have to reset thetemperature see this video.
