Solenoid Coil number of connections

Hello Shower Doc guys,

In my Triton Rapide 3 Plus shower this solenoid has 3 connectors going to it, when every part I have looked at on the internet (including the replacement video of yours) shows two connectors. Why is this?

Also, above the solenoid valve is a removable plastic shield. I have not seen this on any diagrams. Is it part of the triton shower or an 'addition'. I only say this as there were a few drops of water on it.

What I hope to fix is the shower working for about two minutes (random) then stopping (water flow ceases) - the start/stop switch remains in the start position. The date on the shower manual left by the previous occupants is February 2006.

It seems replacing my solenoid coil without the valve might fix my water stopping problems but I am dubious about this plastic sheet, the couple of drops of water and the three connections.

If I cannot replace the solenoid coil do you sell complete showers, i.e. a like for like so that minimal effort is required to instal as engineers where I live are costly, unreliable and invariably do sub standard work - hence attempting to do it myself, as, in this heat, with a large teenager family, the quicker the shower is fixed the better.

Thanks for your help.

Definitely sounds like a solenoid fault

What you are seeing is a piggy back connector ...Makes it look like a second connection (Which it in fact Is!)

The plastic shield is there to protect thesolenoid if the flow valve starts to drip and from what you are saying yourflow valve has started to drip, therefore it should be replaced.
