Quick and cost effective

Initially I thought to replace the whole valve/solenoid assembly but was advised by Shower Doctor that I could just replace the solenoid switch. U tube instruction videos showed how to do this but warned against the possibility of breaking the valve portion in the removal of the old solenoid. I was able to replace the solenoid without disaster by being careful to pull the old one off straight and by the application of a little petroleum jelly as a lubricant on the plastic lugs in the middle of the solenoid "hole" which holds the switch in place. Wife's comment on completion was "That was quick!"
