Trevi Therm Built-In 300 - Flow handle very stiff.

My Trevi Therm Built-In 300 mixer shower was installed in 1998, and until 3 days ago has been perfect, but now the Flow control has suddenly become very stiff and hard to turn.

I assume it is one or both of the 1/2 inch flow cartridges that are seizing up. If so do I just dismantle it and install 2 new cartridges, are there any other parts that I would need to replace as well? The temperature control is fine. I still have the Installation instructions manual, which has details of how to take it apart.

Thanks in advance for your help

Yes almost certainly the on/off cartridges causing it to stiffen up, it makes sense to change them both and you can then keep the better of the two old cartridges as a spare
