Trevi therm traditional errratic temperture and now flow

I have a 1998 installed trevi therm traditional concealed unit which started running cold for along time before heating up. Run on a pump from gravity fed system. Pump can feed tow installations, the other works fine. I changed the thermostat, old type A963068, and heting improved but two days on very restricted flow. Everything looks clean and no debris. I am now suspecting the hot cartridge may have failed? will the A952501NU11 fit this body and what do you think? Many thanks

These temperature cartridges are pretty much bomb proof, the only difference between the old and new cartridge is the way the knob carriers fit the front of the cartridge.

From what you say the problem now is flow and the temperature is OK?

I think the next thing to look at is the flow cartridges if they are tightening then the may not be opening fully.

The other thing to check is the clutches on the flow cartridges, if the cartridges are tightening then the clutches may be slipping not allowing the flow cartridge to open fully.

If the other shower is also a Trevi you could try substituting parts from one shower to the other to try to trace the fault.

Many thanks. I've checked both flow cartridges and the clutch and cant find a problem. everything seems to work and the centre gear is tight on the spindle. I even had the head and hose off today to check for blockages. This is a real stickler. So then I spoke to the manufacturer today and they did not rule out that the new cartridge may be suspect and volunteered a swap out. However your suggestion to swap the parts over first is a good one, Ill try that. The second one is a later one with the longer spindle but the body is the same, so I can at least try it out - many thanks.

You can test the A952501NU11 , both hot and cold, by removing the thermostatic cartridge and turning the flow cartridges on one at a time. You can also test the gears and spindle at this time.
