This is a unusual part and has probably been in Ideal's parts bin for some time!
In your cast the first thing I would do is strip your cartridges out and make sure that the filters are clear.
The white part of the cartridge is the on/off section I would give this a spray with silicone lubricant.
Put it all back together and keep your fingers crossed that you don't have to spent £252 on a new cartridge.
