Trevi shower plastic wall outlet

Hi, when I try to remove the wall outlet the plastic exposed part just seems to rotate not unscrew, is the plastic part push and lock on or it’s it screwed to the brass male part and maybe the thread has been damaged?

The chrome part should have been securely glued to the brass part , so they should not separate. If you get the chrome part off , the brass part has a hex inner , so you can use a hex spanner to remove it.
